SADPA
South African Defensive Pistol Association (SADPA) recognizes the use of rifles, shotguns, and handguns as sport shooting tools and is designed to give clubs and shooters the
option of enjoying the use of these tools in a sport shooting environment. The sport focuses on a balance of Defensive Tactics, Accuracy and Speed.
IPSC
The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) was established to promote, maintain, improve and advance the sport of practical shooting, to safeguard its principles and to regulate its conduct worldwide for the safe, recreational use of firearms by persons of good character. Promoted in more than sixty countries, IPSC is the governing body and sets the various rules i.t.o. match procedures, equipment and safety for competitions.
SPORTING CLAY
Clay Target shooting is best described as shooting flying clay discs that resemble birds. It’s an Olympic sport and great for Corporate, Team Building, Bachelors and social events.
RIMFIRE
The newly created sport provides a fun and cost-effective way to test your Rimfire shooting abilities through a wide range of shooting tasks and targets, including steel, paper, and novelty targets from 25m to 120m. Whether you’re shooting an iron-sight rifle or a custom chassis with high-magnification scope, the sport is aimed at all age groups and skill levels.
WTR
The Western Territory Rangers (WTR) is the dedicated Cowboy Action Shooting club for Cape Town and surrounding areas. An affiliate to Western Shooters of South Africa, the Western Territory Rangers has in fact developed from the original nucleus of Cowboy Action shooters in the Western Cape.
NHSA
The National Hunting and Shooting Association (NHSA/Natshoot) members participate in hunting and sports shooting-related activities as their time allows them, and where it is most convenient for them to partake in said activities.
NRPA
National Rifle and Pistol Association (NRAPA) is accredited by the S.A. Police Services with the designated powers to allocate Dedicated Sport and Hunter status to its members. Its purpose is to provide a one-stop service with regards to the administration of the Firearms Control Act.
SCSA
The Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) is a shooting sport that tests both accuracy and speed. The targets, made of steel, range in size from 10″ round plates to 18″x24″ square plates. Competitors are scored based solely on the time it takes them to shoot each stage. The last target that is shot is known as the “stop plate”, which stops the timer.
ICORE
International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) combines elements of the Bianchi Cup, IPSC, and the Steel Challenge into demanding competition exclusively for revolvers.
3GN SA
The 3-Gun Nation Club Series (3GNSA) provides an opportunity for shooters of all skill levels to compete with each other on an international level at their local club with three shooting platforms, pistol, rifle and shotgun.
MDPS
Multi-Platform Dimension Shooting (MPDS) recognizes the use of rifles, shotguns, and handguns as sport shooting tools. MPDS is designed to give clubs and competitors the option of enjoying the use of these tools in a sport shooting environment. MPDS promotes the safe and responsible use of firearms in a controlled environment.
ITASSC
International Training Academy Sports Shooting Club (ITASSC) is a multi-gun shooting sport based on simulated self-defence & practical shooting scenarios and skills tests. This is the first step on the ladder to dynamic defensive and practical competition shooting. ITASSC’s main goal is to test and enhance the skill and ability of the individual.
EDCC
EDCC is a recreational shooting sport that helps participants learn and train practical, effective and realistic defensive shooting skills and techniques.
This is done by hosting competitive shooting matches comprised of scenario-based courses of fire, with the design and rationale of each stage based on realistic, plausible, life-threatening situations which one might likely experience or encounter in real life.
